JOB DESCRIPTION

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Common job duties for electrical supervisors include making schedules, assigning work and training site workers
  • Electrical supervisors motivate electricians to increase their productivity and meet work goals.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, compliance with electrical codes and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Assist with electrical system installation, troubleshooting and repair as needed.
  • Participate in designing electrical systems and circuits, as well as contributing to improved designs and manufacturing processes are other common job functions.
  • They may purchase supplies, ensure adequate inventory, plan budgets, prioritize purchases, prepare cost estimates and document their purchases.
  • Keep records of electrical operations, payrolls and timesheets. Some electrical supervisors play a role in hiring, firing and evaluating employees.
  • Perform difficult technical work supervising and scheduling the maintenance and repair of a variety of electrical equipment.
  • Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, supervise subordinates, maintain records and files and prepare reports.
  • Plan and supervise the work of electricians.
  • Plan and estimate electrical jobs.
  • Maintain records on electrical jobs and assign to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in coordinating job assignments with the other trades, e.g., plumbers, carpenters, etc.
  • Assist contractors on jobs.
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical materials in warehouse.
  • Recommend procedure revisions when necessary to fully utilize assigned personnel and equipment.
  • Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
  • Examine electrical services for proper working procedure.

Competency Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable in MS Office software

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Prior experience in electrical estimating
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Require experience and understanding of lighting
  • Consulting engineering background is preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers and manufacturers
  • Mechanical and Electrical coordination experience
  • Construction experience will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
  • Advanced interpersonal, team building, leadership and organizational skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.

Required Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering .

Evaluation Process:

  • From probationary to regular.
