JOB DESCRIPTION
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Common job duties for electrical supervisors include making schedules, assigning work and training site workers
- Electrical supervisors motivate electricians to increase their productivity and meet work goals.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, compliance with electrical codes and adherence to safety regulations.
- Assist with electrical system installation, troubleshooting and repair as needed.
- Participate in designing electrical systems and circuits, as well as contributing to improved designs and manufacturing processes are other common job functions.
- They may purchase supplies, ensure adequate inventory, plan budgets, prioritize purchases, prepare cost estimates and document their purchases.
- Keep records of electrical operations, payrolls and timesheets. Some electrical supervisors play a role in hiring, firing and evaluating employees.
- Perform difficult technical work supervising and scheduling the maintenance and repair of a variety of electrical equipment.
- Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, supervise subordinates, maintain records and files and prepare reports.
- Plan and supervise the work of electricians.
- Plan and estimate electrical jobs.
- Maintain records on electrical jobs and assign to appropriate personnel.
- Assist in coordinating job assignments with the other trades, e.g., plumbers, carpenters, etc.
- Assist contractors on jobs.
- Maintain knowledge of electrical materials in warehouse.
- Recommend procedure revisions when necessary to fully utilize assigned personnel and equipment.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
- Examine electrical services for proper working procedure.
Competency Requirements:
- Knowledgeable in MS Office software
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Prior experience in electrical estimating
- Excellent verbal and written communication as well as outstanding interpersonal skills
- Require experience and understanding of lighting
- Consulting engineering background is preferred
- Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers and manufacturers
- Mechanical and Electrical coordination experience
- Construction experience will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
- Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
- Advanced interpersonal, team building, leadership and organizational skills
- Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
Required Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering .
Evaluation Process:
